Remote Support Services

Remote Support Services provide oversight and monitoring in the individual’s home through an off-site electronic support system to reduce or replace the amount of staffing needed by an individual. The drive of Remote Support Services is to support the individual to exercise and maintain greater independence over their lives. It is integrated into the individual’s overall support system and reduces the amount and number of staff support a person uses in their home while ensuring health and welfare. Hands of Hope Services, Inc. assures us that the system will be monitored by a staff person trained and oriented to the specific needs of individuals served as outlined in his or her Person-Centered Plan.

Hands of Hope Services, Inc., Remote Support Services include the following:

  • Electronic support system installation, repair, maintenance, and back-up system.
  • Training and technical assistance for the individual and his or her support network.
  • Off-site system monitoring staff and
  • Stand-by intervention staff for notifying emergency personnel such as police, fire, and back-up support staff.

Hands of Hope Services, Inc., shall ensure that individual residing in the residence, his or her legal guardians, and teams be made aware of both the benefits and risks of the Remote Support Services. Informed consent must be obtained for all individuals in the residence.

Remote Support Services are done in real time, by awake staff at a monitoring base using one or more of the following:

  • Live two-way communication with the individual being monitored.
  • Motion sensing systems.
  • Radio frequency identification.
  • Web-based monitoring systems; and
  • Other devices approved by the DDA.
