Day Habilitation Services
Day Habilitation services provide the individuals with development and maintenance of skills related to activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, vocation, and socialization through application of formal teaching methods and participation in meaningful activities. Meaningful activities through this service focus on support with learning new skills, building positive behavior and interpersonal skills, learning personal choices, and building independence.
Examples of Specific services might include.
- Learning skills for employment.
- Learning appropriate social behavior.
- Learning effective communication.
- Engaging in safety practices.
- Learning to perform household chores; and
- Performing self-care tasks.
Services are provided in combination with any other approved services including Employment Services, Respite, Personal Support, Community Living Services. These services will be provided in integrated and inclusive environments where people have opportunities to connect with and participate with other community members besides people with disabilities and paid staff. Specific support will assist people in developing the skills and social support necessary to gain employment, developing community connections, promoting growth, special assistance, and education.
